George Orwell’s classic: Animal Farm

On Tuesday 13th February, year 9 had the amazing opportunity to go and see a powerful re-telling of George Orwell’s classic: Animal Farm.

The story is based around the downtrodden animals of Manor Farm and how they overthrow their master in order to take the farm for themselves and their dreams of freedom. However, over time the brutal and calculating pigs start to emerge as leaders and start to take control of the farm. Soon the other animals discover that they are not all as equal as they once thought and find themselves ensnared as one tyranny is replaced with another. Animal Farm is an allegorical tale based on the Russian Revolution.

Animal Farm is studied within the English Curriculum so it was brilliant that year 9 could go to the theatre to see the story brought to life. All of the students were impeccably behaved and had an amazing time.
