“Our final cohort of Year 9 pupils began their Prince’s Trust award work with Wigan Athletic yesterday. This academic  year has seen all Year 9 pupils taking part in a six week program, in which they have developed skills in personal development, team work, sport and wellbeing while working towards a Prince’s Trust accredited award. The certificates have been chosen in order to complement applications for college, education and apprenticeships in the future.

Steve Bower, the Educational Officer from Wigan Athletic said he has “seen kids increase their confidence. They start to feel themselves more and are happy to answer questions in class and give answers in more detail.”

Our Head of Year 9, Mr Potts added “It’s been fantastic It really has. The kids love it, they really enjoy the sessions and look forward to it every single week.”

We are looking forwards to hosting a rewards ceremony for the pupils who have taken part and their parents at the start of the next academic year, details will follow.”
